8584 is one of the two 47-ton war surplus locomotives of the MRR.
It was used to reopen services to San Fabian, Pangasinan on March 19, 1945., also known as the General MacArthur Special, led by General Douglas MacArthur.
History[]
Originally meant for the Chilean State Railways, it was diverted by the War Production Board for army use.

- A dilapidated 47-ton was spotted in the Caloocan yard in the 1992 film "Kapag Nabigo ang Batas" with unknown number.
