History

Calulut was opened on February 23, 1892 as a flag stop on the then Manila-Dagupan Line, the station was destroyed by insurgents during the revolution, it was rebuilt in 1923.

Northern Services beyond Meycauayan were suspended since the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo.

Informations

  • Calulut is located 69.83 kilometers from Manila.
  • Calulut is the first flag station built in the Philippines, followed by Murcia in Tarlac.

It was probably a flag stop then since there's only few residents living near the station, as time goes by, the population increased, making all regular trains stop at this flagstop, later it was converted into a regular station, a wooden station building was built.

  • The yard track of Calulut was increased by 300 meters in 1923.
