Guadalupe, also known as Baranka, is a station situated on the Guadalupe Line. A former part of the Antipolo Line. It serves Barangka Ilaya, Mandaluyong City.

History

Guadalupe (then Baranka) was opened on April 28, 1927 as a flag stop serving the Manila-Taytay section of the Antipolo Line, as well as the Montalban Line. Passenger services ceased in 1941 after the line was used as a dumpsite for destroyed rolling stock.

When the line resumed operations in 1949, services did not reach Guadalupe until 1974. During the term of the late General Manager Pete Nicomedes Prado, there was a proposal of reviving and extending this line up to Pasig but it did not push through.

Location

Guadalupe station is located near the EDSA-Guadalupe bridge beside the Pasig river, the present day Ilaya Mini Park.
