List of Accidents, Derailments, Stall, Collapse etc. November 19, 1896 - Insurgents under General Mariano Llanera derailed a train at Calumpit (one locomotive and five coaches)

May 27, 1898 - Father Leocadio Sanchez, Father Francisco Giron, Father Miguel Vera and five other Augustinian priests, including a doctor were ambushed by Katipuneros while waiting for a Manila bound train. Father Giron escaped by jumping into the window of the train.

November 7, 1899 - Filipino Revolutionaries blew up the southern span of the Bamban Bridge.

January 2, 1913 - A automobile was hit by a train in San Juan, Kawit (formerly Cavite Viejo).

January 20, 1915 - A clerk of the Manila Railroad Company disembarking from a moving train aprroaching San Mateo accidentally slipped with a sack of melons that were left on the platforms were he rolled down continuously to the train until his right arm was crushed and lacerated.

October 1915 - The Bayandong Bridge on the Legazpi Division Line was washed out.

October 1921 - The tracks of the Legazpi Division Line between Pamplona and Naga were washed out.

January 16, 1922 - Porter No. 45 of T-203 was derailed between San Francisco and Concepcion after hitting a carabao.

May 25, 1922 - T-6 hit a carabao between Malolos and San Marcos, one baggage car and a box car were derailed.

March 25, 1923 - An overspeeding freight train collided with T-233 at Lubao.

April 4, 1923 - Mixed T-554 ran into a ballast siding at Villa Bota, Gumaca, Quezon resulting in the derailment of Alco locomotive no. 112, three passenger cars and one freight car.

April 26, 1923 - T-585 collided with T-506 due to failure of brakes at Panaon station.

April 28, 1923 - Locomotive no. 24 hauling a ballast hopper from San Lazaro station side-swept locomotive no. 57, derailing it causing the death of its inspector and fireman while the driver, conductor and brakeman suffered injuries, seven freight cars were also derailed.

? 1923 - At KM 55 of the Cabanatuan Line, floods washed out the Maasim station building and yard, and the sections of Malicboy and Sumulong stations, including the tracks at Bahay-Buaya on the Main Line South

July 26, 1923 - The south span of the under repair Guiguinto Bridge at KM 30 Main Line North collapsed when train passed by.

September 17, 1923 - 16 cars of Freight T-542 bound for Manila was derailed between Gumaca and Plaridel during a storm.

September 18, 1923 - Porter locomotive no. 51 of T-542 derailed and overturned at Yawe station of Main Line Line South in the morning, the tracks were washed out between Santa Rosa and Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija later that night.

December 18, 1923 - North British Locomotive no. 112 hauling T-132 was derailed on the curve between San Felipe Neri (Mandaluyong), and San Pedro Macati (Hulo) stations, a similar accident occurred forty years later.

July 13, 1924 - Flood washed out the Cayanga Bridge at San Fabian interrupting services.

October 14, 1926 Baldwin "Pacific" locomotive no. 145 hauling mixed train no. 80 hit a carabao between Aringay and Paraton stations which caused the locomotive to overturn and derailing passenger car.

June 18 - July 23, 1928 - Eruption of the Mayon Volcano caused damages to the track, interrupting services.

July 16, 1928 - The tracks between Sucat and Alabang were washed out, interrupting services for fifteen hours.

May 28, 1929 - A northbound freight train collided with a southbound freight train, killing the driver and fireman.

September 2, 1929 - The Steamship "Mayon", purchased by the Manila Railroad Company from Mr. Vicente Madrigal in 1925, sunk at the Ragay Gulf, eighteen passengers perished.

January 12, 1931 - T-704 collided with T-705 at the siding of San Jose, Batangas station, six passengers and a mail clerk were injured.

August 12, 1931 - One of the cylinder piers of the Parua River Bridge between Mabalacat and Bamban sunk when T-19 crossed due to rising of the water, services were also interrupted between Calamba and Makiling and at Santo Tomas on the Batangas Line.

August 25, 1939 - Freight T-550 collided with Passenger T-505 at Aloneros station.

January 13, 1940 - The locomotive of T-241 was hit by a Cargo Truck at a crossing at Santa Rosa, Laguna.

January 23, 1940 - T-420 collided with a truck between Balibago and Victoria in Tarlac, four passengers were injured.

February 4, 1940 - A freight train collided with a bakery truck at España crossing, the truck driver died and two employees were injured

April 9, 1940 - A freight train from Cabanatuan collided with a Plaza Lawton bound Meralco tram bound at the intersection of Ilaya St. and Azcarraga (Recto).

June 9, 1940 - Eleven freight cars of a soutbound train were derailed between Mambulo Viejo and Pamplona stations.

July 27, 1940 - Passenger train T-522 collided with the rear end of freight train KAT-2 causing the death of the locomotive driver and fireman.

December 24, 1941 - Japanese planes bombed passenger car of train on Los Baños during the early hours of Christmas Day, 30 pesons died.

April 1, 1946 - A passenger from a Tutuban bound train was shot by a Manila Railroad guard at Paco station.

March 1947, A train was hold-up by armed men near Paputoc Bridge, south-east of Masaya station.

September 20, 1947 - Several cars of Freight T-551 were derailed on a steep grade between Summit (Atimonan) and Plaridel stations.

December 20, 1947 - A locomotive was derailed at Damortis damaging two cars.

June 13, 1949 - Locomotive 867 slipped and collided with locomotive 171 T-1 at Tarlac station due to overspeeding, 21 passengers were injured.

March 8, 1955 - A Benguet Auto Line bus passing through the Naguilian Road fell into a cliff resulting in the the death of two passengers.

February 21, 1957  - A jeepney was hit by a train at Balibago Crossing in Clark.

April 19, 1959 - A Ilocos Express train was derailed on the side track of Malasiqui station.

Dec 19, 1962 - Two trains collided at Matinik, south of Hondagua station leaving 46 passengers injured, the station agent was fired for his negligence.

May 23, 1963 - A freight train hauling sugar from Hulo station's nearby Insular Sugar Refinery was derailed at Barrio Saniga (Zaniga) curve and smashed four houses nearby, the same curve where a derailment also happened in 1923.

1966 - A train was derailed at Calauag, 9 passengers were killed.

May 17, 1968 - The locomotive and 5 coaches of a Bicol Express train were derailed at Yawe, 8 were injured.

November 25, 1968 - The wheels of a freight train jumped off the tracks near Gumaca.

November 29, 1968 - Four coaches of a Bicol Express train were derailed at Binangbang,Gumaca, killing one passenger, rescue train later crashed into one of the derailed coaches, 11 PNR employees were injured

November 23, 1969 - A jeep collided with a PNR freight train, 7 were killed and 5 were injured.

February 22, 1972 - Seven coaches of a Mayon Limited train jumped off the tracks beyond Paco station.

March 17, 1973 - A magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck the Ragay Gulf and the nearby areas, damaging tracks and bridges.

June 6, 1974 - A Cargo Truck was stucked at the España Crossing, blocking trains coming from both directions.

August 10, 1974 - A stalled bus at Balungao Crossing in Calumpit, Bulacan was hit, 18 died and 5 were injured.

April 28, 1975 - Six cars of a Manila bound Prestige train were derailed at Malicboy, one was injured.

1976 - A train was derailed between Calumpit and Apalit due to decayed ties.

December 31, 1981 - Two trains with opposite directions hauled by DEL 905 and DEL 910 collided with each other between Hondagua and Calauag, Quezon.

July 21, 1989 - the BAC 1-11 plane landing at NAIA block the railtracks and the South Luzon Expressway between FTI and Nichols although no trains were passing at that time.

April 27, 1992 - A car was hit by a train at Kahilum Crossing in Pandacan.

April 29, 2015 - Two cars of DMU Set 3 (DMR 12 and ITR-03) bound for Alabang were derailed on a bridge near Nichols station, DMR-10 remained on the tracks.

August 4, 2015 - A old woman was hit in Buendia crossing.

January 12, 2016 - A Jeepney was hit by a train in Pedro Gil crossing in Paco Station .

July 7, 2016 - A man at Ramon Magsaysay was hit and decapitated.

August 1, 2016 - DEL 917 on its way to Alabang collides with a van in Rizal Avenue crossing in Blumentritt station.

August 25, 2016 - A trespasser between G. Tuazon and Magsaysay Blvd. crossings was hit.

February 3, 2017 - A DPWH truck was hit at Yuseco Crossing, the keeper's hut was damaged.

Most accidents from the 20th century were posted in newspapers, one day after it occured.

  • Harimao - A PNR Steam locomotive hauling a box car and passenger coaches were derailed on a scene.
  • Nandito Ako - One of the box cars hauled by a steam locomotive with a PNR logo were Kris Aquino and Philip Salvador rode was bombed, earlier one of their enemies was knocked down and fell between the two box cars.
  • Gawa na ang Balang Papatay sa Iyo - FPJ threw a bombed inside an rotting JMC railcar and razed by fire.
  • Home Along da Riles 2 - DEL 5009 crashed into the house of the Cosmes which was rebuilt earlier in the film.
  • Utol - Some of the 7E coaches hauled by DEL 5001 that Cesar Montano and Victor Neri rode was razed by fire.
